Anniversary get-away

03.9.10 by B

We celebrated our anniversary early this year. K arranged everything, and designed the time to delight me. First, no kids. (My sister and brother-in-law bravely added our brood to theirs for 24 hours). Second, a room at the Arizona Biltmore. The resort has a rich history in Arizona and was designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. I’ve been there for political events over the years, but never to stay overnight. Third, food! We had dinner at Christopher’s and breakfast at La Grande Orange. Fourth, excellent wine. K brought a bottle of our favorite wine, which we discovered the night before we became engaged. Fifth, shopping. Among other stops, we spent over an hour at Last Chance.

Pillowcase dress revisited

Remember the pillowcase dress I made a while back? I tried a repeat with a pillowcase I found at a local antique store. I love the creamy cotton and purple flowers. Makes me dream of Spring and ham sandwiches.

Lazy day skirt

Knitting may stress me out, but sewing brings me back to center…especially when the kids are tucked away in bed and all I can hear is the humming of the sewing machine and the wisper of my fingers over the fabric.
