Our undocumented anchorman

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

This week, B and I were thrilled to attend the annual dinner of the Goldwater Institute. The evening’s festivities included both Jonah Goldberg–my favorite columnist during my college years (to see why, read this!)–and Mark Steyn.

I discovered Steyn during my first year of law school when I found the best (and longest) op-ed ever written. Steyn expanded the article into his best-seller America Alone and his career has rocketed. He’s even become a frequent guest host on the Rush Limbaugh Show (the origin of this post’s title).

I confess; I’m a total fan-boy.

Life updates

Friday, October 16th, 2009
  • My sweet little sister, Evie Joy, and dear old friend, Andrea, both married this fall. I was honored to witness both weddings.
  • As of October, I’m officially a licensed attorney in California.
  • K and I are sitting for the Arizona Bar exam in February.
  • K is working almost full-time for a federal judge in Phoenix (for free–he’s still looking for a paid position)
  • K is writing a book. Can’t tell you much about it except that it’s unique and snarky and going to rock some boats and steady others.
  • E can assemble simple puzzles, color with markers, stack blocks and cups, and organizes toys (and food) in order of height.
  • E puts the neighbors gravel back in their yard if she sees it on the sidewalk. OCD?
  • E talks. She told me “Iovyou” three times last week. ::sigh::
  • K2 laughs and smiles all the time. ALL the time. Happiest guy ever.
  • K2 almost sleeps through the nights (7:30PM until sometime between 3 and 5 AM).
  • K and I have a new nephew. Zion Joshua Miller. He’s a cute as can be. Can’t wait to see him at Christmas.
  • My parents persevere with us living in their home. They are saints.
  • We love our new church because we are growing so much in our knowledge of the Word, our love for God, and our ability to hear His voice. Attending a Sunday service is the highlight of our week.
