Our undocumented anchorman

This week, B and I were thrilled to attend the annual dinner of the Goldwater Institute. The evening’s festivities included both Jonah Goldberg–my favorite columnist during my college years (to see why, read this!)–and Mark Steyn.

I discovered Steyn during my first year of law school when I found the best (and longest) op-ed ever written. Steyn expanded the article into his best-seller America Alone and his career has rocketed. He’s even become a frequent guest host on the Rush Limbaugh Show (the origin of this post’s title).

I confess; I’m a total fan-boy.

First look at 2012

The t-shirt I was wearing in the family photo has also been sported by other models.

Thune!

It is a campaign shirt for one of my favorite Senators, John Thune of South Dakota. He’s an Evangelical, graduate of Biola, father of two who just might be interested in running in 2012. He seems to be a guy who could unite all the wings of the conservative coalition. Two smart bloggers are pegging him as the semi-unknown guy who just might rise to the top. I sure hope they are right.

For those of you who are interested, read on for my current rankings of the 2012 race as it stands right now. Read the rest of this entry »
